From September 2026, Brandt GmbH and MT Energy Service GmbH will be pooling their expertise. Feed-in technology, biogas services and process biology support will be brought together under the umbrella of Brandt GmbH. With around 80 employees at the Rockstedt, Rotenburg (Wümme) and Zeven sites, as well as a nationwide service network, the company will become a comprehensive partner for biogas plant operators, with the aim of making plants more efficient, processes more stable and operations more cost-effective.
Feed-in technology, service and process biology support from a single source
Through this merger, Brandt is combining its many years of experience in feed-in technology with the comprehensive service capabilities and process biology expertise of MT Energy Service. “We will be able to support our customers even more comprehensively in future. With our feed-in technology, we assist plant operators in switching to residual materials. Our biogas laboratory optimises the substrate changeover through process biology support and laboratory analysis, ensuring stable fermentation processes and the best possible biogas production. The biogas service ensures consistently high-performance plant operation,” explains Florian Wahlers, who, together with Marvin Kahrs and Volker Rehfinger, forms the management team at Brandt GmbH.
Tailor-made feed technology for different substrates
At its Rockstedt site, Brandt manufactures custom-configured feed systems for biogas plants, such as solid feeders, liquid feed systems and screw conveyor systems, which optimise substrate utilisation in biogas plants. Particularly when switching to waste materials, Brandt supports plant operators from the initial consultation right through to commissioning with a bespoke plant concept that is precisely tailored to the substrates, technical specifications and operational requirements.
Nationwide biogas service for reliable plant operation
The Rotenburg (Wümme) site is the company’s central service hub. The nationwide biogas service is coordinated from here. The range of services extends from maintenance and repair, through electrical services, plant control and automation, to tank refurbishment and the modernisation of pump and agitator technology. “We support biogas plant operators in retrofitting, converting and equipping their plants, as modern components help to lower on-site electricity consumption, reduce operating costs and sustainably increase the efficiency of biogas plants,” explains Volker Rehfinger.
Process biology support for stable digestion processes
The biogas laboratory is currently still based at the Zeven site, but will move to the Rockstedt site next year. The biogas laboratory supports the integration of new feed-in techniques, the switch to residual materials and ongoing plant operation through process biology support and analysis. Through the targeted analysis of substrates and the intelligent coordination of process additives and feed and dosing technology, the laboratory ensures stable digestion processes and optimised biogas production.
Holistic expertise for the future of biogas plants
The combination of feed technology, biogas services and process biology shortens communication channels and enables even closer coordination of the individual services. “Combining our areas of expertise allows us to avoid viewing technical and biological challenges in isolation. We develop solutions that take the entire plant operation into account in order to run biogas plants efficiently, reliably and economically,” says Marvin Kahrs, summing up the shared objective.
